Just when things seemed low for us, and we were on the verge of giving up, in came a ray of light, like a motivation, which has fueled us once again to get up again and keep going.
Hey peeps I hope you all are safe and doing good, now it’s been a while since we have posted anything on our site, and well, our truck load of coursework and online classes kind eats up most of our day and the remaining few hours are drained by self studying and doing other activities. And to be very honest, me and one of my fellow writer Soumyadip were really dubious as to whether we could actually carry on with our site. But thanks to Sky, and this marvelous award, we’ve got some drive to keep us going.
Sky is one of my favorite Bloggers, and her poems are a perfect blend of thoughts and creative beauty. She’s got many poems and posts on her site which provokes you to think and realize stuff. She’s also a Math nerd, and I’ve rarely seen people who bridge the gap between two completely different subjects (Math and Poetry) so beautifully. She’s an amazing writer and you should definitely check her site out.
Here’s a link to her site:
Thank you so much Sky. We hope your site keeps growing.

ANSWERS TO SKY’S QUESTIONS:
OK NOW SINCE WE’RE A TEAM, SO I THOUGHT OF SEGREGATING THE 8 QUESTIONS INTO 4 EACH (ALSO BECAUSE WE WEREN’T SURE WHAT TO ANSWER TO A FEW OF THEM):
So here are my answers to 4 questions, a.k.a by Shounak (the paranoid) Sanyal
If you had to choose just one, what book would you want everyone to read and why?
That’s a really nice question. Now I’m not an avid book reader to be honest, but if it comes to one book which I’d like everyone to read it’s definitely gonna be “Phantoms in the Brain” by Sandra Blakeslee and V. S. Ramachandran. I believe all of us should have at least some idea about the drama that goes on inside our head and Phantoms in the brain is one of the best books that I’ve read on Human mind and cognition. It contains a vivid, yet easy to understand description of how the different part of the brain work and shows us how even tiny changes in it can cause a lot of difference. It also has some interesting case studies of patients which show just how crucial this thing inside our skull is. I’ll definitely recommend everyone to read it at least once.
What is your greatest regret?
Well as human beings we all make mistakes, but rightfully so, a few ones leave deep impacts on our lives, and they become regrets. My biggest regret is that I had kinda intentionally wasted a lot of time when I was 17 and 18 years of age. Time which if utilized properly would have helped me get a better rank in the famous Indian Engineering Entrance Exam, JEE. I had kinda given three years of my life preparing for it, but often got carried away with a lot of silly stuff (Peer Pressure, mobile addiction, Trying to form a relationship with my crush lol, insecurities), and hence never could I really get myself a rank decent enough to get admitted to the celebrated IITs of the country. But I try to learn from my mistakes, and although I couldn’t get into one of my dream colleges, life still moves on, and I try to utilize my time properly these days so that I could do better in all the future opportunities that life will give me.
How many Languages can you speak?
English (of course, and i have a weak, almost poor British accent, but i’m working on it), Hindi (the official language of our country, India), and Bengali (or i’d rather say Bangla. It’s my actual mother language). I love learning new languages and i know some German, and currently i’m trying to learn Japanese. So to any Japanese person reading this, konnichiwa!
Who is your greatest inspiration?
If someone had asked me ,say like even a month before, I wouldn’t really have an answer to it, but thanks to fate and to the You Tube recommendation system, I’ve found an inspiration. A person, whom I really admire, and whose thoughts and actions really inspire me to be better. The guy is Jocko Willink. He’s a retired Navy Seal officer and runs a consultancy firm now. He also does podcasts on youtube named jocko podcast, and honestly speaking the things that he say are 100 percent real, hardcore and well inspiring (at least to me). Now I’ve always been a frail, timid, socially anxious, insecure person, but somehow his podcasts seem to drive me to be better. The guy tells you the harsh truths about life, and its issues, but somehow he made me realize that although life is harsh, we still could be better and achieve our goals if we have absolute ownership. So yeah, one vote here for Jocko Willink I guess.
Now here are the answers to the remaining questions by my friend and fellow writer Soumyadip Sen
What is your favorite way to relax after a tough day?
Meditation, observing the thoughts without getting entangled by them makes me feel liberated, also results in enhancement of seratonin and dopamine levels
What skill do you admire that you wish you had?
I wish I could play football well
What is your favorite animal?
Cat, no one can ever own a cat, cats are very cute, wonderful pets, but can become very aggressive if situation demands, so no one should try to mess with them
What is your favorite form of writing and why?
I admire modern style of writing because of its simplicity and straightforwardness, as compared to orthodox styles of writing. One of my favourite books is “The Lowland” by Jhumpa Lahiri
Loads of thanks again to Sky for nominating us. This is our very first award and it’s really an inspiration to start working again. Although we are still caught up, and i have an upcoming exam next week, we’ll definitely try to post and write as much as we can. Thanks you everyone for reading this, stay safe and have a nice day!
As said before, we’re a team, so questions down below are given both by me and my friend
- Where do you think lies the line between Ego and self respect, and do the distinction even exist?
- If you were given a chance to be a part of any Hollywood fictional world, which one will it be?
- Have you ever experienced anything Haunting or Paranormal?
- Dark, calm, cool and cloudy or Sunny, warm, bright and busy? Which atmosphere do you like? ( I like the dark gloomy one btw)
- Are you happy living in the 21st century, or do you wish you were born somewhere in the past or future? If so which century will that be?
- Is there anything that makes an adult superior to a child?
- What exactly do you think made Human Beings the most evolved species on the planet, and do we often forget that?
- Is compassion equivalent to meekness?
Ok, So that was it for today. Like i said we’ll definitely try posting more content and till then take care everyone and we’ll see you guys soon with a new post. Cheers!
